The project was approved under Resolution No. 275/NQ-HDND adopted by the provincial People’s Council on December 8, 2023. It runs from To Hieu intersection on Dien Bien street through Tay Bac (Northwest) Square, crossing Nguyen Van Linh street, and ends at a point leading to National Highway 6. The street, measuring 2.2km long and 21m wide, with each pavement 5m in width, is equipped with traffic safety, lighting and draingage systems.

After the two-year construction, the street has been opened to traffic in line with legal regulations, with its quality ensured. Other items to consolidate the street are expected to be done within this year once their dossiers are approved.

The naming of the street, located in the southwestern part of Son La city’s urban area, demonstrates the gratitude of the Party Organisation, authorities and residents in Son La to the legendary general, and contributes to educating national traditions and history, and promoting patriotism and national pride.

It was put into service on the threshold of the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday./.
