Vice President visits Regiment 754 officers, soldiers

With the framework of her working visit to Son La province, on December 21, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and a working delegation offered incense at the memorial house for heroes and martyrs at Son La Prison special national historical relic site, and visited officers and soldiers of Infantry Battalion 1, Regiment 754, the province’s Military Command.

Joining the delegation were Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies; and officials of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, and standing members of the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Son La province.

Offering incense to heroes and martyrs and visiting Son La Prison, the Vice President and delegates expressed their deep gratitude for the great merits of heroes and martyrs who dedicated their youth and happiness to the independence and freedom of the nation.

Visiting officers and soldiers of Infantry Battalion 1, Regiment 754, Xuan expressed her joy and excitement with the unit's achievements. In 2023, it was assessed by superiors as meeting the standards of a comprehensively strong, exemplary and typical unit; and was awarded the title of “determined to win unit” by the Military Region 2 High Command. On behalf of Party and State leaders, the Vice President acknowledged, praised and appreciated the achievements and efforts of the Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province, especially the attention and leadership of the provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee to military and defence tasks and the building of the province's armed forces.

Xuan expressed her hope that the provincial armed forces will continue to promote good traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and successfully fulfill all assigned tasks. They were also required to firmly grasp the situation in the area and the border situation, provide forecasts and advice to the local Party committees and authorities, the Military Region 2 to proactively build military and defence plans and avoid passivity in all circumstances. They should build revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern army forces that are capable of protecting the Fatherland early and from afar in the current context.

On this occasion, Vice President Xuan presented 10 "Great Unity" houses with a total value of 500 million VND (20,550 USD) to Son La province, and gave gifts to 30 households in difficult circumstances in Son La city, and 200 gifts to the provincial fund for children.
