The programme lasts from November 15 to December 15 with the theme of "Ensuring social security, empowering and creating opportunities for women and girls to achieve gender equality and eliminate gender-based violence.”
During the month, departments, agencies and localities will step up the communications work to raise public awareness of social welfare policies, especially those in support of disadvantaged women and children. They will also work to equip women and children with knowledge and skills to protect themselves and prevent violence and abuse, while taking more measures to reduce and eliminate violence against the group, especially domestic violence and violence in the community.
Media agencies will play an active role in popularising contents, messages, and results of the programme, and promoting practical and effective actions taken by organisations and individuals in ensuring social welfare and supporting women and children, and building a safe and equal environment for women and girls.
On this occasion, the provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women presented 20 gifts to 20 members and female students in difficult circumstances.
