Bustling "Full Moon Night" in Son La city in 2023

The Son La city People's Committee organized the "Full Moon Night" programme in 2023 at Northwest Square on the evening of September 29 (the 15th of the eighth lunar month).

At the event, local teenagers and children heard a city leader read the State President's letter to teenagers and children on the occasion of the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival; learned about the origin and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival; enjoyed singing and dancing performances, activities featuring Uncle Cuoi and Sister Hang Nga (the two fairy-tale characters who live on the Moon), lion and dragon dances, and a full moon party.

Also at the event, a Mid-Autumn Festival tray arrangement, and star lantern decoration and display contests took place.

Coming to the "Full Moon Night", local residents, teenagers and children also contemplated hot air balloon demonstrations performed by experts from Ballooning Media International Hot Air Balloon Company Limited.

The "Full Moon Night" programme demonstrated the Son La city Party Committee and authorities’ care for teenagers and children. It was one of the activities to celebrate the city’s 15th founding anniversary on October 26. It also aimed to honor and encourage students, especially those from difficult backgrounds, to try their best for excellent academic achievements and high results at national exams for excellent students.

At the end of the programme, local residents, teenagers and children participated in a lantern procession along the city's streets, creating a beautiful impression of a reunited and cozy Mid-Autumn Festival.
