Community-based communications model rolled out in Bac Yen district

The Women's Union of Bac Yen district on November 2 organised a training conference on the implementation of the community-based communications model for communal officials and communications workers.

The conference saw the participation of 40 communal officials and communications workers from 15 communes and Bac Yen township, who were equipped with skills to establish and operate community-based communications teams, and other necessary skills and knowledge in this regard.

The model forms part of Project 8 on promoting gender equality and addressing urgent issues facing women and children under the National Target Programme on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Inhabited and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period, Phase I from 2021-2025.

This course aimed to help communal officials and communications workers better the communications work, encouraging ethnic minorities as well as mountainous residents to change their mindset and practices, eliminate stereotypes, and promote gender equality, and protect and care for women and children of ethnic minority groups./.
