Efforts made to enhance Xuan Nha special-use forest protection and firefighting

Since the beginning of the year, the forest protection unit and the management board of Xuan Nha special-use forest have strengthened coordination with communal authorities and management boards of 17 villages in the special-use forest to promote dissemination of laws on forest protection and management. fire prevention and fighting.

They have signed commitments to forest protection and fire prevention and fighting with 1,432 households living and farming inside the special-use forest, while consolidating 17 forest protection and fire prevention groups of the villages, with 262 members.

At the same time, they have also implemented a programme to support communities in buffer zones of special-use and protective forests. Local forest rangers have been reqired to coordinate with forest protection and fire prevention groups in villages to organize patrols to protect forests.

The units have urged project developers to take care of 30.9 hectares of replacement forest in Xuan Nha commune.
