At the meeting, delegates reviewed the revolutionary traditions and glorious historical paths of the Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces of Son La province and the armed forces of Son La city over the past 79 years. They were given information on the city's socio-economic development in 2023 as well as the performance of local defence and military tasks this year and some key tasks for 2024.

In recent years, Son La city has always paid attention to leading and directing the successful implementation of local military and defence tasks; well implementing military rear policies; and ensuring social security. In 2023, the city organised visits and gave gifts to over 1,700 policy beneficiaries and poor households, with a total value of over 820 million VND (33,700 USD); paid allowances worth more than 18 billion VND (740,000 USD) to over 2,000 policy beneficiaries.

The city People's Committee leaders hoped that the participants will continue to promote the traditional qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers and set an example implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies laws; actively engage in building the local political base and educating revolutionary traditions for the younger generation. They should promote the core role in the movement “All people protect national security”, and participate in building all-people national defence associated with a strong people's security posture.
