Son La city completes eliminating temporary housing for poor households

On October 17, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Son La city Ha Trung Chien and other municipal leaders handed over the "Great Solidarity" houses to nine poor households in Chieng Coi and Chieng An wards and Chieng Ngan and Chieng Den communes.

Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Son La city Ha Trung Chien and the working delegation presents the "Great Solidarity" house to Quang Thi Vui's household in Me Ban hamlet, Chieng Coi ward.

This time, each household received 40 million VND ($1,628) from the city’s "Farmers' Shelter" Fund and "For the Poor" Fund and from donations by the city Business Association, the provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund, and Nam Thanh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. In addition, socio-political organizations and people in the city contributed workdays and construction materials to help build the houses.

The handover of nine "Great Solidarity" houses this time raised the total number of poor households supported to eliminate temporary houses in the city since the beginning of the year to 46, reaching 100% of the 2023 plan. With this result, Son La city has completed eliminating temporary housing for poor households.
