Son La traditional student athletics competition 2023 wraps up

Son La province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Department of Education and Training organised the closing ceremony of the 14th Son La Traditional Student Athletics Competition on April 1.

Athletes compete in track and field.

Participating in this year's four-day tournament were 403 athletes who are secondary and high school students in the province. They competed in high jump, long jump, ball throwing, shot put, and 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m and 1,500m races.

The organising board awards prizes of the high school group to winners.

This is an annual tournament aiming to promote the movement of physical training and sports and assess the quality of physical education at schools; and to discover talented students as sources for the province’s professional teams.

The organising board awarded the first prize of the secondary school group to the Education and Training Division of Moc Chau district, the first prize of the high school group to Chu Van Thinh High School, together with the second and third prizes to the winning units and 34 sets of medals to athletes who won prizes in three age groups (grades 6-7 and 8-9) of the secondary school group, and the high school group./.
