Son La holds meeting of exemplary businesses and entrepreneurs supporting trade unions

On September 24, the provincial Labour Federation, in collaboration with the provincial Business Association, held the third meeting of exemplary businesses and entrepreneurs supporting trade unions, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of "Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day" (October 13, 2004-2024).

The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, leaders from various departments and agencies, and exemplary businesses and entrepreneurs in the province.

Son La province currently has 127 enterprises with trade unions. In recent years, business leaders have collaborated with trade unions to implement legal regulations on grassroots democracy at workplaces, fostering harmonious, stable, and progressive labour relations. This cooperation has contributed to production and business development, job creation, and income improving for union members and workers.

In addition to protecting legitimate rights, trade unions at local businesses have worked closely with employers to improve the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, motivating them to strive for sustainable business growth.

Statistics indicate that over 85% of businesses with trade unions in Son La have established grassroots democracy regulations, and more than 70% have signed collective labour agreements. Nearly 50 businesses provide shift meals for workers, valued at 18,000-80,000 VND per serving, ensuring nutritional needs for workers. During the recent Workers' Month 2024, businesses organized numerous programmes to support union members and workers in difficult circumstances or facing serious illnesses, with a total value of over 15.8 billion VND (642,147 USD).

The Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee presents flowers to congratulate the provincial Labour Federation, the provincial Business Association and the provincial Tourism Association.

In his remarks at the meeting, Cong urged the provincial Labour Federation and the provincial Business Association to direct trade unions at all levels and those in businesses to actively collaborate with business leaders to promote emulation movements in working, successfully fulfilling production and business tasks while providing meaningful support for union members and workers in need.
